Jon Bennett
Internationally acclaimed storyteller and comedian Jon Bennett returns with his latest hit show, American’t — a hilarious and heartfelt account of one man’s chaotic attempt to make the United States his home.
After spending more than a decade touring the globe, Bennett was forced back to rural Australia during the pandemic, where he found himself living once again with his conservative, religious family. When he finally managed to return to the U.S., he was met with an unexpected twist — getting arrested at the airport.
In true Bennett fashion, American’t transforms personal chaos into comedic gold. With his signature blend of sharp humor, vulnerability, and absurdity, Bennett delivers a fast-paced, emotional, and laugh-out-loud journey through resilience, identity, and belonging.
The show has earned rave reviews and multiple awards, including the Patron’s Pick Award at Orlando Fringe (2024) and Best of Fringe at both Tampa (2023) and Kansas City (2023). Critics call it “a non-stop ride” and “Bennett’s best work.”
Opening the evening is Lexis Shardé, a stand-up comedian, filmmaker, and producer from Oregon known for her clever, relatable storytelling and sharp musical comedy.
Lexis has appeared on CBS alongside Iliza Shlesinger, studied improv and sketch comedy at Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles, and is the founder of Lexy’s Comedy Club, a pop-up venue network soon opening its first brick-and-mortar home in Eugene. Her comedy blends dry humor, original parody songs, and reflections on life as a working mom, real estate broker, and “loyal to my soil” Oregonian.
Expect a dynamic warm-up set that perfectly pairs with Bennett’s signature storytelling — clever, real, and laugh-out-loud funny.
